An
Inn For All Seasons
It’s late in the afternoon in late August
and down at the Harbor, lobstermen are
returning from a long day of fishing. You
can sense the coming fall in the different
sunlight that 3:00pm brings this time of
year. You can also feel it in the air and
see it on the water. A twinge of sadness
brought by summer’s end is felt by many, but
here at the Inn, this change of season
brings different and exciting activities and
events.
There are many wonderful things to enjoy in
York Harbor in late summer and fall, and
most are just outside our doors. September
and October offer undoubtedly the best
weather for outdoor activities. Hikers and
bikers have a lot to choose from including
scenic Mount Agamenticus, our Oceanside
Cliff Walk, York’s Beaches, Fisherman’s
Walk, The Wiggly Bridge and Steadman Woods.
Sea Kayaking is one of the best ways to see
Maine’s rocky shores and tidal estuaries.
The Sport Fishing season peaks here these
months as the Striped Bass and Bluefish
migrate south. Whale Watching is also very
popular with tours leaving from
Kennebunkport, ME. and Portsmouth, NH.
The Kittery Outlet Malls, The Kittery
Trading Post, and Maine’s legendary L.L.
Bean store are all close by. Considered
“outside activities” by some, they offer
great opportunities for early Holiday
Shopping.
Inside activities at the Inn are both
exciting and relaxing and offer warm, cozy
and delicious ways to usher in the new
season. The Inn’s fireplaces burn nightly.
Warm aromas of wood fires and culinary
creations tease your senses.
Menu items like our Lobster Corn Chowder and
fire- roasted Flatbread Pizzas are popular
items at the end of an activity filled day.
For the more hearty appetite, our new
selection of fine all natural steaks from
Wolfe’s Neck Farms have been very well
received. Steak selections include a 14 oz.
USDA Prime NY Sirloin, a thick cut 20 oz.
juicy T-Bone Steak, and an 18 oz. tender
Delmonico Rib Eye.
The change of season also brings our list of
special culinary and entertainment events
including our very popular Wine and Beer
Tasting Dinner Series. Our Thanksgiving Day
Buffet Extravaganza and Gala New Year’s Eve
Celebration are always sold out so reserve
early for the best seats and rooms!
We are very excited to announce our new
partnership with Stonewall Kitchen and their
new state-of-the-art Cooking School.
Packages are available and our own Chef
Gerald Bonsey will be featured on select
nights this Fall (see inside for packages
and details). Myself and our staff hope to
see you when the leaves start to fly.
