The SCP Becomes A Role “Model-Ship”
Over the past year the pub has been dedicated in supporting a number of local charitable organizations and has encouraged our neighborhood patrons to get involved, leading to a better community for all of us.

We have selected the York Food Pantry as the recipient for the proceeds of several special fundraising evenings such as our very successful Halloween Week festivities and our musical Tribute to The Beatles evening.

Banding together with Sebago Brewery to make a difference, the pub raised money and awareness for the Maine Parkinson’s Society by donating a portion of profits of each Sebago Brown Ale sold during the month of April.

In doing our part to be a good neighbor in our community we have created Paws For A Cause. This ongoing fundraising effort benefits the Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society and the Safe Haven Animal Society. Teaming up with Gritty McDuff’s Brewery, we held a Cinco de Mayo/Trivia Night and raised over $750 in one night for a total of $2300 of our goal of $5000!

At a recent Open Mic/Hoot Night fundraiser many musicians donated their time– including our own innkeeper’s band, The Four Fathers of Rock! Please join us in any efforts as support is crucial due to the overcrowding needs at these shelters.

In September we will begin a new program, "Setting Sail For A Greener Tomorrow." Our goal is to raise awareness to lessen our impact on our environment. The Inn is a member of the Going Green Initiative and is a recognized leader in the Hospitality Environment Leadership Program and is happy to be offering activities for children to learn about environmental stewardship over the coming months. We will also be seeking “green tips” from our patrons with special prizes for ideas that are implemented throughout the pub.

The Ship’s Cellar Pub supports many special causes that touch our inn, our employees and our industry. We encourage you to participate and get involved. Thank you.
