Dear Guests,

Thank you all so much for your continued patronage during these challenging times. We were very happy to warmly welcome all our guests this past Summer and Fall who needed a break from the stress of this Covid era. Our State of Maine is and continues to be one of the safest areas in the country to visit. Everyone is working hard to continue to make it so.  

Our unique combination of “Socially Distant” Inn buildings worked quite well in our efforts to stay safe. A lower occupancy along with the absence of groups and social events led to quiet halls and stairwells, safe socially distant dining areas, and a more private, relaxing vacation experience. Our Maine Hospitality Association and State of Maine Safety Guidelines proved very helpful as we installed Plexiglass partitions and social distancing reminders where needed. Masks are required by all when moving through common areas. Staff members temperatures are taken daily and recorded, and Staff wear masks whenever on property.

Enhanced guestroom and common area cleaning protocols became the “new normal” for Housekeeping and our Food and Beverage staff, along with new procedures and offerings including a “Grab & Go” Breakfast featuring Hot Breakfast Sandwiches and more. Our new “Take Out” menu has been very successful and will continue this Winter.

Our most surprising new Food & Beverage development was and continues to be the success of our outside dining options. A tented “make-shift” dining area on the front lawn of Harbor Cliffs Inn provided fantastic ocean view dining during the warm months. And the heated Chapman Cottage Deck and Patio became a hit with our local clientele and visiting guests. In fact, the Patio Tent at Chapman- complete with fire tables and electric heat, continues to be a venue of choice for so many of our dining customers. We hope to keep it going well into early Winter!

Finally, I’d like to acknowledge and sincerely thank all of our Staff Members for working so hard during these very difficult times under very adverse conditions… they ran longer and harder, masks in place, in the heat of our Kitchens and under a very hot Summer sun. They, along with the natural beauty of our State and the talents of our Chefs, create the magic that is a visit to Maine and the York Harbor Inn.
