On Saturday January 28 our guests stepped back in time to enjoy our inaugural Colonial Concierge Weekend.
Beginning with a traditional tea service including specially baked cookies (Molasses, Hobnails and Apple Jacks) the attendees enjoyed a presentation from a representative of the Museums of Old York.
We were taken on a journey from the very founding of York through its development as an early tourist destination all the way through to today. Our guests had the opportunity to ask questions and provide their own insight to their discoveries of the rich history of the area.
We then convened in our Ship’s Cellar Pub for a specially brewed rum punch by the fireside. Tasty treats were served as our Innkeeper, Garry Dominguez, shared his unique and personal perspective of the Inn’s history and development over his thirty years of ownership.
As if that weren’t enough, we then made our way to the 1637 Dining Room to enjoy a fabulous menu prepared by Chef Bonsey and his staff. Menu items included: Cod Balls, Plymouth Salad, Duck, Scalloped Lobster and for dessert the most amazing Apple Dumpling you will ever enjoy!
Our guests shared stories, laughter and we even celebrated an engagement that took place earlier in the day!
We all learned so much about the history of York and the Inn and created our own memories that will last a lifetime!
