Our 2012 Wedding Prelude Weekend was a great success! This weekend getaway offers our Brides and Grooms celebrating their weddings with us this year the opportunity to experience much of what the inn offers including lodging, food and beverage. Our banquet staff is on hand to meet and greet our 2012 brides and grooms, so when their “real” day arrives, they feel at home and comfortable during their stay. Our couples ate, danced and laughed their way thru the weekend, making great memories in anticipation of their big day. We started with dance instruction by Ben and Diane Taylor of Learn 2 Dance Waterboro, Maine. The couples loved how Ben made instruction fun and easy. They were a little tentative at first, but by Saturday afternoon our couples were one step closer to dancing like the pros and ready to show off their fancy footwork for their first dance!
After working up an appetite on the dance floor our Brides and Grooms enjoyed a delicious selection of culinary treats from Executive Chef Gerry Bonsey, including chilled hors d’oeuvres of Lobster Traps, Rare Roast Tenderloin of Beef with Raifort Sauce, Blue Cheese-Honey-Walnut Canapés and Seared Wasabi Tuna. Hot Selections included Maine Crab Cakes, Butternut Tartlets, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Rosemary Chicken Skewers, and Pulled Pork Biscuits. For Dessert, Chef presented a Viennese Dessert Table with Truffles, Mini Pastries, and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries!
Rounding out our wedding immersion weekend, our couples practiced “cake cutting” with a beautiful wedding cake from Confection Art of York, Maine. Practice makes perfect! The tables were set with beautiful flowers from Fiore Dal Mare of York Maine, giving our Brides an idea of what their tables could look like fully set with china, glassware and silver. Shane Cocoran of Shane’s Wedding Photography of York Maine, captured the weekend and provided complimentary photos of the dancing lessons and cake cutting to our couples!
Our Banquet Manager Greg Silva and his team provided fantastic service and answered questions for our couples. Paul Gagnon, our Concierge, reviewed what we offer for families, bridesmaids and groomsmen via special gifts available through our Concierge service. As the Inn’s Wedding Coordinator, this weekend was a wonderful time to get to know all of our couples more closely and share in these special moments leading up to their big day!
Happy Planning,
Patty
